A number of contributors to this site seem to beat the drum for Adorama's biggest competitor in New York City. (I get it; I bought my last two Nikon DSLR's from the competition.) I have not had any dealings with Adorama....yet; however, I have been having some challenges with their competition lately and a lot of those challenges seem to have started happening when the competition shifted from the Big Brown Truck to handle their shipments to Fedex Ground. If Adorama's competition is telling me/promoting that I get 2 day expedited shipping to my area, why is it taking Fedex Ground 3 days or more to deliver? I get a tracking number, I track my order for delivery, my order requires a signature at times so someone has to be there to sign. I try not to burden anyone else here to do that, they have days off too. But, when you get a delivery date, you arrange your whole schedule and day off around being there to accept and sign for the order, and nothing happens by 2 pm; and you go on line, do another order tracking and discover the delivery has been rescheduled to the following day, that really rankles me!!!!

Your complaint is with the shipping company not B&H. B&H has no control over fedex. But you come here and title this post Adorama. What the F does this have to do with Adorama????? Did it ever occur to you instead of this dopey post Pick Up The Phone and Call Fedex????????

we have come a long way, when we can say USPS does a better job than UPS or FedEx; as i said in another spot; probably Amazon gets priority in many instances; not to engage in politics ( I did vote Red ), not sure why POTUS bashes Amazon ( being the business guy he is ); USPS did not have to sign the contract pricing and its acceptance was a matter for both sides to consider - their duty is to the public; Amazon's duty is to their shareholders. any UHH reader ever work for the P.O. who would be able to educate us some on how pricing is determined ?

POTUS is really jealous that Bezos is a much better business man than he is...plus he hates the media, and Bezos owns Washington Post.

I live in rural North Dakota and I wouldn't call it the sticks, but I can see the woodpile from here. Personally, both UPS and FedEx have been very good with one exception and it was that UPS lost a memory card. After contacting B&H, they sent it by two-day delivery and it arrived fine. I have ordered through both B&H and Adorama both have been okay with B&H getting most of my business. However, I work in shipping and receiving at an agriculture dealership and my experience has been that FedEx has fewer problems out here than UPS. Nevertheless, it all depends on where you live and what works there.

All of the shipping companies have their problems. I ordered an iPad from B&H and they used UPS with tracking. On the day it was supposed to be delivered the tracker said it was still in NJ. The next day the same thing. So I called B&H and they waited one more day and then refilled my order new and sent it again. I got my stuff from the new order on the new date on time. Then, UPS calls me looking for the original order and I don't have a clue where they misplaced that order. End of that story but I'm guessing that B&H had to file a claim with UPS.

I had a lens repaired at Canon and they use FedX 2 day delivery - signature required. They showed up on the day they were supposed to deliver and knocked on my neighbors door. I heard the truck. They drove off and put a note on my neighbors door. I didn't sneak over there and ready it but in the back of my head I wondered if the FedX guy went to the wrong house. Next day the FedX driver shows up at my door and I said what happened to you. It was supposed to be here yesterday. He told the truth and said that he went to the wrong house. I did not complain any more because he told the truth and apologized.

I sent something I sold through eBay to a person and used a tracking number with USPS. I tracked it and it never showed that it arrived at the guys house. But I never got a complaint so I guess it did but proves that USPS is messed up too.

Maybe that's because your location is "In Hiding"?
I suspect delivery has everything to do with location. I have frequent deliveries by UPS, Fedex and USPS. All are prompt and without any issues. Maybe I'm just fortunate?

In my area except on rare occasions all three delivery services work fine. If I order from either B&H or Adorama and it is not the weekend or holiday I receive my packages the next day

I guess you get what you pay for 80) I'm content with the service I get from B&H. I also know that f I needed something immediately, they would do what they could to make it happen, for a price, which is to be expected.

Are you sure you are using the correct type of delivery. I live in the middle of nowhere as far as shipping yet I get drawings from here to anywhere overnight by 10 am by FedEx.
I belive ground is slower. Please check out how it works for your next order.
Both B& H and Adorama have been excellent on their shipping to me and that is never a factor in the purchase.

USPS/UPS does pose an occasional problem for me. UPS has apparently started delivering most of my packages to my USPS box in town. All well and good except if UPS delivers to USPS in the afternoon my packages will not be available until the next day. If that happens on a Friday, I will not be able to pick up until Monday unless it is a holiday weekend then I wait until Tuesday. So much for two day delivery from Amazon or anyone else.

Have actually tried to change my delivery preferences to my physical address vs my PO Box. Good luck trying to get ahold of someone at UPS.

While I have never had a package stolen,,,on expensive camera gear,,,,I have UPS or Fed EX hold it at their center here in Des Moines and I pick it up at my leisure and on my schedule not having to wait or worry about when the delivery driver might show up at my door,,,,I have had excellent results from UPS, Fed Ex and the good old US Mail....

I don't know about your area. But in most areas of the country UPS has regional offices that packages come to and then go directly to the customers address. When I move, I always find the address of the local regional office of UPS and go visit, I make friends with the supervisor and get their direct number, that they will be happy to share with you.
If for example, they try to deliver to you and no one is home for a signature, they leave that thingie on your door, I would then call the regional office and ask them to hold my package when the driver returns after their shift, I sometimes drive to the regional office and pick it up or make a delivery time that is both good for the driver and myself. Getting to know your district office staff always pays off, especially since I take them cookies at Christmas and local chocolates other times of the year. When I was in business we did this for all of our delivery personal, works wonders.

Here in AZ most of my UPS packages come through USPS. At my TX country address ALL deliveries and mail are put in my mailbox down at the highway. Anything too big for the mailbox will be brought all the way down our road directly to the house. We live far enough out in the country that we do a LOT of online shopping, UPS delivers nearly every other day. I believe the UPS driver knows most of our eight dogs by name.
