Your shots are magnificent. You have so many colorful birds. Thanks for sharing. It is always a learning experience.
Just a brief note to all you wonderful UHH-ers, first my sincere apologies for not addressing each one of your comments individually, not wanting to respond mechanically and impersonally, I chose to try this manner by addressing you in what I believe to be a more meaningful and personal way. Foremost, thank you ever so much for taking the time to visit this post of mine and for the appreciation that you have showered so generously towards my work, it is very encouraging and I am always happy to visit here with new images from time to time, its like belonging to the Home Team and the being cheered. Thank you!
I will attempt to respond to some of the specific questions that some have raised.
Phil (repleo), it pleases me that you enjoy my bird images in spite of birds not being on top of your list of interests. With respect to the Indian Roller, it was shot against a clear sky towards the sun, mid morning, it was a challenging shot because of the harsh back light that required to be correctly over exposed to catch the detail on the bird, that is the reason for the washed out background.
AzPicLady, the light when I took flamingo image was strange and I am happy that I managed to capture the feel of the situation.
That my images are appreciated because they introduce many to bird species from this part of the world makes me very happy for being able to do so.
Fergmark, thank you for your beetle comment. It was taken using a 1:1 macro lens and has been further cropped in post, the probable magnification in visual terms may be in the vicinity of over 100%.
Philo, India ranks among the top 5 destinations for having the most number of species of birds. Photographing birds in India is difficult because they are very shy compared to what I experienced with the birds in the US of A, the challenge makes it that much more exciting.
Steve (SteveLew) the PT Jacana is a very beautiful and delicate bird, quite active and sometimes tough to get on the wing for the reason that it flies low over the lily pads and this confuses the AF system often times because it is white, as are the lily flowers. DoF is essential to compensate for that small error in focusing precision at times like that.
Ray (Rayme), one of the reasons that I find it so relaxing, like fishing, its a game of patience, which I enjoy a lot.
Once again, many thanks everyone. Until next time then. Take care!
