nikon 50mm f1.4 ai vs niknon 50mm f 2.0

i find the f1.4 a little soft the f 2.0 sharper not enough t buy one dont listen to other people they dont always know the answer.

Soft/sharp usually depends on the specific aperture setting.

Actually, I always felt that the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 was just a tad sharper than the other 50s.

I've always had the 1.4 and been satisfied with it, probably because that's what I started with. But for decades the 1.8 has been reputed to be sharper, IIRC.

Had a 50mm 1.4 included it with my D800E when I sold it for $2,768 .. felt guilty selling my 1 year old D800E on eBay for such an extreme price ....I have since replaced the 1.4 2 months ago with a 1.8 for use on my D850 .. it is tack sharp ..
