I love tiny wild flowers (weeds). Every year I find it harder to cowl around in the mud to get a shot of the neglected tiny flowers, but I found a few that were somewhat cooperative.

Gary, these are absolutely lovely! The are so delicate and colorful and the generous kiss of spring rain gives them a delightful quality.

Hi Dan,
It's always fun to photograph wild flowers. These were all taken within about 30 feet. I don't have to go far to find weeds.

Carol, I'm glad you like my little weeds. I've been photographing tiny spring flowers off and on for more than 40 years. I was really to get a few shots of the geese with their babies, but noticed the flowers on the other side of the road. All I had with me was my Nikon 70-200mm lens. Not really the best lens for the job. The next day I came back with a Nikon 105mm Macro and a 24-70mm lens. Both are pretty good lenses for the job.

I like the look of rain droplets on flowers, however I can never count on the weather, so I starting bring some artificial rain along.

Thank you.
Gary

You’re a very good rain maker, Gary! It looks totally natural! This is a wonderful time of year to be out shooting. Flowers and baby birds are hard to beat!
