Old cars + old planes = fun

Finally, it quit raining! The Bayport Aerodrome had a get together. What good fun, listening to the planes and watching them taking off. One of these days I'll learn how to capture them.

Nice. Nothing like looking at that old machinery all restored and shined up.

The whole thing was very spur of the moment and I enjoyed every minute. Thanks for looking.

Use a big trap?

Go to a local and small airfield at early morning. See which way the windsock is pointing and position at opposite direction side near main runway, outside the fence. Photograph everything that flies over. Planes take off into the wind. Repeat several times and your shots will soar.

Great set you show here.

PS., You don't need to do the Red Baron thing. (The bullets, if available, are too expensive and the neighbors will not appreciate the noise.)

Thanks. It was a beautiful day to watch them. They even had live music. Someone said they were there every Sunday.

Thanks for the laugh and the compliment. It was a learning experience I'll work on. Thanks for the advice too. I may need to go back and give it another go without the Red Baron.

You want to learn how to capture something that flies? Go for a ride! Do whatever is needed and talk your way into a hop. Pilots of those old planes love to share their hobby. Make some great photos of their planes and trade for a ride. Fly in one of them and you get a whole new perspective of flying. Enjoy!

Haven't been in a small plane since we "buzzed" the farm when I was in college. It was a "hoot". Thanks for the advice. It seems those guys are having a lot fun.
