I planned on taking some photographs at a family BBQ last weekend. It wasn't a critical function, so I took just one body and a 24-70 lens. I pocketed a few spare batteries and cards, and thought I was all set. No sooner than I had taken my first shot I got a message telling me that my SD card was full. I thought this odd, because I had 32GB cards in both slots, and had remembered to format them that morning. I figured the card had failed, swapped the card for a new one, and thought nothing of it.
Back home, when I was downloading the pics I thought I'd try and figure out what had gone wrong with the card. Sure enough there was one JPG and one CR2 file, and the free space was near zero. I pulled the card out of the card reader and was about to toss it in the trash when I thought I saw something in the small print on the card. It was not a 32GB card. I had accidentally picked up an old, old, old, 32MB card from my first digital camera, a 2MP Kodak. It only recorded JPG, and could store about 50 photos on a 32MB card!
I did trash the card, so I don't make the same mistake on a more important occasion!
Easy mistake to make if you miss the fine print.

Thats funny, and imagine how far cards have come, and cameras too. I remember my first PC, I splurged and got the 40 meg hard drive instead of the 20 meg. Now I think I have 4 Terra bytes for my main drive.

And mine was a 64K computer. That was after the one where you had to use 2 5.25" floppy discs to make it work. And work in DOS.

Definitely NOT senile. According to my guru:
Amusingly forgetful - not zipping up after you pee
Senile - not unzipping before you pee
Easy mistake. Getting rid of it seems like a great idea, although you would probably not make the same mistake twice.

When I upgraded from the dual-floppy disk computer to one with a hard drive, there was one which had a 10MB hard drive, and another with a 20MB hard drive. The salesman told me "when are you ever going to fill up 20MB of disk space?"
Our company paid $150 for each of those cards a few months ago.

You should send the card to Canon as a historical relic. I don't think anyone makes 32meg cards any more.

I just found a 4MB card from an old Elph we used to have. Glad I never tried to use it.

Yeah, I've heard that some. Now to look back on that makes it seem hilarious. Technology is amazing, isn't it?
I paid a lot of $$ for my Kodak 4800... 3 mp camera... excellent... made great 8x10s... lots of controls via knobs... much better than my 1 mp camera it replaced!!
That 32 meg memory was more expensive than the 32 gig you would buy now. Bet-ya

I was thinking it should have been donated to a museum.

As I said earlier our company could buy the 32MB cards new a few months ago but paid $150 each.
