Hawk versus Crow and Seagull

After driving off a pair of blue herons, this juvenile red shouldered hawk was itself beset first by a persistent crow, and then by a gull.
The standoff between hawk and this crow lasted for ten minutes, a very long time compared to other cases I've seen, where a few crows mobbed the hawk and drove it off in less than a minute. This time the crow gave up. The seagull arrived 25 minutes later.

every so often we see that here on the coast, with eagles and osprey, ravens and seagulls. I'd like to capture a set like yours, awesome.

Thanks. I was surprised and lucky to see this type of action go on for so long. Even though Alameda is a city of 75,000 there's an osprey pair here and nesting close to the spot I caught this. Maybe they'll get in on the action next time.
