Really nice photo's. I thought coopers hawks have red eyes? Is it an immature coopers?

#1 and #3 are favorites. I think #3 would better horizotnal with a little room for it to fly to rather than out of the picture. Nice and sharp. Good sert.

For Coopers, I always look for white banding across the tail. But, I’m not a birder.

I'm pretty sure this is a juvenile red tail. The three thick black bands are missing in the tail, the light colored eye (marker of a juvie), shorter broader tail, broad wing and the patagial bar, all say red tail, not a cooper's. Mature Coopers have a reddish eye.

Really great shots, though.

What I usually do and would have done if there were room in the frame. The capture had the bird all the way to the right of the frame, but it was the sharpest and cleanest in flight shot of the day so I "had" to use it.

Consensus now is immature Red tailed. Apparently immature Cooper's do have yellow eyes though.
