I was given a telescope and I would like to use it. Only I don't know the brand of it, now is there any kind of mount for it.
I can get some photos of it, plus my income is low (SDI/VA) so it must be cheap.
You may want to check this forum. I've managed to get some valuable advice from the members there who have forgot more about telescopes than I know  . I have mostly read the site and I'm sure to post a question you'd have to join. But hey, small issue.

After I change programs, I'll check that site out.

It's an old orange tube Celestron C-8. The black bars from one clamp to another... are they dovetails or not?
I'm not sure just what they are for, I've never hod one of these before and do not know anything about them.
this photo shows the rear of the scope.
I found on my old hard drive some more photos of the scope, I hope that I don't have the same photo, but anyway the rest should help.
thats an old Celestron SCT[ schmit cassigrain] telescope looks about to be a 200mm? [8"] OTA.... youd need a dovetail for mounting on a tripod.and diagonal for using lenses. Go here for mounts cheap
www.orion.com and to
www. cloudynights.com for forums and want adds . Astromart charges a $12 fee for first time users to place adds on their site so dont go there untill your sure you'll stick with it. Astronomy is even more expensive that photography , I do both and believe me its worse than Golf..LOL. but if you ever want to get rid of the OTA[optical tube assmbly] Pm me.... BTW that scope is about 30+ years old and probably not too bright .. whatever you do DO NOT TRY CLEANING THE MIRROR inside it
I'll check out Oran to see if they have anything, I am a member of Cloudynights and can check the ads there.
I was walking home one day after getting something I could not take on the bus, and I was picked up by a guy that loaded my goods in his car and on the way home we where talking and I told him about this c8, he was a guy that workrf for the schools done in Lancaster and he said the if he hears about a mount for it or something I could use, He would contact me.
what your price limit ????? try
www.hayneedle.comor ebay I have some tripods saved in my searches. . my friends looking for a tripod for his Giant Bino's we found an alt mount for $99 on hayneedle I can send a link
OH btw the top bar in your pic is a handle the bottom is a dovetail for a cg-5 mount also known as a "Vixen" style dovetail the cheapest got to mount currently is the celestron cg-5 mount they start at $750 but are most astrop 's starting mounts and the c-8 is also most peoples first scope for astro photography. u can find used cg-5 mounts for around $400
will it's can't be to mush, as I live on a combo of SDI/VA so things that cost a lot are outside of my range.
they don't have anything wat they have cost to much and I did't see anything that this scope would fit but mostly cost to much.
well your outta luck then, you'll most definately have to modify the dovetail for mounting aon a camera tripod, or just sell it to someone whos willing to put it on a decent mount... astronomy gear isnt cheap and I doubt you'll find even a used mount for under $100 if you do it'll be junk and wobbly as heck/ you can use any dovetail or shoe you want on that scope as they arent mounted directly to the scope itself. personaly Id put it at LEAST on a panhead tripod, then again tey start at $100 and go up. that things just tOO big for a cheap camera tripod. it'll wbble so bad you wont be able to view anything at all let balone it will fall over or break the tripod
