Here is a photo, if I can make it appear, that my wife took on her iPhone 6 during the eclipse. She ONLY uses her iPhone for photos. And she gets some really nice ones. We always steer folks toward Canon or Nikon when for some people the iPhone is perfectly adequate.

Very nice - and we were all told that taking a picture of the eclipse would fry your phone.

Well, taking of photo BEFORE totality WOULD most likely fry your phone...but during totality, not so much.
