It has occurred to me that I spend an inordinate amount of time being an idiot.
We have been asked to shoot some baseball games for a Afghan Vet baseball team. Never done it before, but it's a good cause and so we went.
Really nice guys...polite and complete gentlemen.
Anyway, shot the first game with a 28-80 G lens on a D7100. Good focal length for batter's box and pitching mound, and they said we could go anywhere we wanted so we choose close to the dugout.
Took the new D800e to the second game, and I never even looked thru the view finder on my full frame and you know what I saw.
Anyway the ability to crop with the 36 mp saved some good shots...and I didn't really have any problems with the 4 fps
Mission accomplished. Nice going
Thanks...kinda shocked when I lost 1.5x the focal length.
And the lens is one I bought from KEH for $59. One of the lenses that Nikon made for their programmable auto focus film cameras back in the '80's.
