Anyone have a canvas vendor that will print AND ship a 20x80 canvas?

I haven another commercial client wanting my 20x80 panorama, but they are not sure if they want it framed or on canvas. I'm just going to quote it both ways. The problem is, finding a canvas maker that is willing to ship it. I did find a few that said they can make it, but it has to be picked up.

Thanks
Bob

You might want to consider a triptych which is much easier to make and ship. Use a 20x20 - 20x40 - 20x20 for a totally unique view.

Try Dennis Goodman Photography & Printing in Naples FL, go to his web site dennisgoodmanphotography.com Dennis does all my printing, paper or canvass and can print on other materials as well. He does excellent work.

I visited this place a couple weeks ago with a friend who had them print an oversized reproduction. I don't know about shipping, but a canvas print would be easy to put in a tube. They are in Danbury Connecticut https://www.visualimpactweb.com

Thanks big guy, but they want it as on solid print. (so it looks "impressive") It will be part of a whole wall gallery surrounded by "smaller" 20x30's. The funny thing is, this is the third time I've been asked for that size, and this is one of my least favorite photos of local landmarks.

It's a perfect example of beauty is in the eye of the "buy-holder" I almost threw the original out, because to me, it showed a lack of anything eye catching, just an old dam.

Thanks

Thanks Khumiston and Fergmark. I will try to contact your suggestions. I have tried to mount canvas prints to frames in the past, and found that it's better to leave that up to the professionals. As for shipping, I just add that to the price, so I don't mind paying whatever it costs, and thankfully, these people don't know the meaning of the word "budget" (I love people like that)

His print was 84 x 45. He has always printed his own on his canon 44", and this was his first experience using someone. On our recent visit, we tweaked the color and contrast ever so slightly from a sample print they did, and though I did not see the final print I was told that it was very good. We were shown some of their current projects, having expressed some curiosity about various printing they do. One other thing, John was very happy with the canvas they used. It was a very fine weave.

Was it mounted, or just rolled and put in a tube? Their website doesn't show anything that long.

I'll be calling them shortly. Already spoke to the vendor in Naples, same story, doesn't want to ship an already wrapped canvas. I know SOMEONE is willing to do it. For now, I'm also going to be contacting local frame shops to see if anyone has experience in gallery wrapping.

Thanks!
Bob

If the printers won't ship, perhaps you could make arrangements with a shipping company. The shipping company should be able to provide a suitable container.

I think your best bet would be to get it shipped in a tube and get a local artist to stretch it for you. Be mindful of doing a boarder in the file you use. A color or mirrored edge wrap

And research the heavy duty stretcher bar sizes so that you don't have to (god forbid) have a custom frame made.

I am surprised and suspect it is entirely because Dennis Goodman is extremely busy. He regularly prints canvases as large as you need and although he used to stretch them himself he recently began subbing that out to a frame shop, which I assume picks up the prints from Dennis, and he has also been doing what i think they call a "float" with most of his canvass prints, which if you are not familiar with is typically just a narrow frame of 1/2" to 3/4" material, the inside dimension of which is about 1/4" to 3/8" greater than the canvass print giving the appearance that the print is floating within the slightly larger frame. A nice look which I am going to use next time I do a print on canvass. But Dennis is just across a parking lot from a FedEx shipping station, Dennis may not be aware that FedEx will pick up, and they will also package items for shipping. It wouldn't be cheap, but might be worth another call because really all he needs to do is print the canvas and Dennis might not have considered that. Part of my surprise is that I have always found him to be very accommodating and nice to work with. Good luck!

I did speak directly to Dennis. He's happy to print that large, roll and ship it, but I'm also having a record year (again) and taking the time to run to a frame shop and pray they don't screw it up, is a little bit more time than I want to spend if I can get the final product finished, and ready to hang.
