Very nice set!! As a North East Coast sailor, had you given the location and names of each one I would have enjoyed them even more. The first looks like the Nubble Light off Oguonquit (SP?), ME. If it is you got a great picture of it. I've tried to get one from offshore several times, but the water along the shore line is pretty thin so I chickened out! The second might be the Rockland, MA light on the end of jetty at the Samoset Inn; we walked out to the end when we were young.
Are my 15+ year memories correct? I don't recognize the others at all--West coast?

Hello JCam,
Thanks for the nice comment. Sorry I didn't ID the lighthouses. By the time I realized it I couldn't fix it. To much time had passed. But beings that you asked, here you go. #1 is Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, ME. and yes that is my photo. My wife and I rented a cottage walking distance from it. I spent a lot of time here photographing the lighthouse. 2- Spring Point Ledge, S. Portland, ME. 3- Permaquid Point Light, Bristol, ME. 4- North Head Light, Ilwaco, WA., 5- Nobska Light, Woods Hole, Massachusetts, 6- Cape Mears, Tillamook, Oregon, 7- North Head Light, Ilwaco, WA. (near Cape Disappointment) 8- Portland Head Light, Cape Elizabeth, ME. (this photo was taken from a ferry) Yaquina Head Light, Newport, Oregon, 10- Portland Breakwater, South Portland, ME. I hope these bring back some great memories of your time at sea. Enjoy!

The history of lighthouses is fascinating. It took a special person to man them. To build some of these is a whole different story.

Very nice set. Who doesn't like lighthouses? I've been to most (all?) of the ones on the Oregon coast and we have a trip planned for the future to drive the entire coast of Maine. You mentioned that you stayed in one at a B&B in Oregon; I assume that it was Heceta Head. We stayed there in July 2010 and I've included a photo of it and the B&B (the former lightkeeper's house). That was a real treat! I've also included another favorite, Kilauea on the north shore of Kauai (one of our favorite places on the planet).
The first two were taken with a 6MP Canon S3 IS; the last with a 12MP SX40 HS.

Nice photos, thanks for sharing. I don't know how much time you had to spend with Mike and Carol Korigan. The hosts/chefs at Heceta Head Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. They owned a restaurant prior to running the B & B. There restaurant was in the neighborhood where I spent a lot of time growing up. We had something in common to talk about. In the 50's and possibly the 70's Mike was a DJ at a local R & R radio station (KISN). I worked at a ABC affiliate TV station (KATU). More to talk about. It is a small world. They had to go somewhere while we were there. They gave us the keys to the light keeper's house and said "hold down the fort". Great memories.
