I still have my Dad's old 1960 vintage Nikon-F with a 1.4 50mm prime. This lens is super sharp, or at least it was back in 1960. I should have it modified to fit my D750.

Nice shot. That lens is a great value. It's an even better value when you buy it in a kit along with the EF-S 10-18 (another great lens value) for an extra $40 ($320 total). I'm using both with my 80D.
