Big fan from way back. Wonder how many fans know he played guitar for Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band's first album, Safe as Milk. How about some vintage Ry? These are live performances from my favorite Ry Cooder album, "Paradise and Lunch" from 1974.

I'm a Capt Beefheart and Ry Cooder fan as well so I probably knew that since I am in the habit of reading liner notes albeit in an enhanced state of mind. I've sold most of my vinyl for gas money but I still have The Edward.

This Ry Cooder interview is good because the interviewer is good and Cooder likes to talk. It's covers the twists and turns of a life pursuing any interesting music you like. He mentioned Bahamian Joseph Spence as an early influence, 10 years old. I searched him out and found one of the most eccentric, original artists I've heard ever and it's real feel good!

I just saw this show for the San Francisco Jazz Festival that Ry is doing with Roseanne Cash. Unfortunately, all sold out.

That was awesome. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Cooder, I had a real Youtube session. My favourite of his is "Yellow roses say goodbye"
