Problem: Lens bag hurts shoulder

If it is heavy, the waist strap is essential. Some of the camera pack makers have optional waist straps. Tamrac makes a few nice packs, but the waist belt on the one I got was a separate item.

Perhaps you could post a picture of your husband with the lens bag. This would help us evaluate your needs as to the size and type needed and present a solution that would work well for you.

Brings up another topic as I also do my wife's toenails. Do you buy acetone by the gallon, like I do, and just transfer some into the empty polish remover bottles?

Yeh, it's best to carry your weight on your hips.
