I got this photo at 3 AM. The skies were clear and I took a little drive to get away from the light pollution of the city. Your comments are welcome and much appreciated. I used a Canon 5D Mark lll with a 24-70 version 2 lens. Iso was 1600... F2.8...and 15 second exposure. I prefer my Milky Way to appear more natural and just used a little sharpening and tweaked the exposure a bit with highlight and shadow. Please view in download.

Hi Thomas, very nice photo. I'm originally from Jamestown, NY. South of Buffalo. Where did you get that nice shot.

Nice, I really should try that someday.

But So. California is so build up and has so much light pollution. My parents were both from Buffalo, NY. Where did you go to get away from the city lights?

Oh, OK. That is not too far from Holland, NY. I have some cousins that live there. I visited the area back in 1977. Their home used to be a old school house many years before that. Things were a lot darker at night then.

Very beautiful, Thomas and to download is especially necessary on these dark images in order to see the beautiful details! Nice work!

Anyone interested in lunar or Milky Way photos should visit Ken Christison's facebook page. He shoots wonderful night skies, birds, and anything else he points his camera at. https://www.facebook.com/search/str/ken+christison/photos-keyword And please don't think I'm knocking your photo. I like it. Ken's photos give me a standard to strive to match.
