I stopped at the Truck stop That I retired from to buy a soda....out front was this Parrot Panhandler....he actually spoke and whistled for change. What could I say?.....I gave him my change....and took a few snaps!! I also found a small barn just about to collapse.
If there is a better way to panhandle, I can’t think of it. Nice set.
That's funny! When I was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California we hit an antique shop on a winding road in the mountains somewhere and was asked of we wanted to buy a bird? Looking around we couldn't see anyone, but it kind of sounded like a little old lady. After being asked the same question a couple of more times we started laughing because now we've moved further into the store and have still not saw anyone, and then our laughs were being mimicked.... by some 70+ year old bird. It was hilarious once we discovered that it was the bird asking of we wanted to buy it?
African Grays are the best when it comes to talking, and mimicking sounds.
They are so smart.

Your story reminded me of an old Jerry Reed Song.
The Bird
