Don't. All you need is your body, something like a 28 - 300 lens, a 50, 35 or 24 mm f/1.4 for nightime, a CPL and a UV filter, a buncha memory cards and 4 batteries. Get yourself a USB battery charger and you're set. I've found that on a vacation, less weight is more. Oh yeah, get a Platypod.

Hi SD83

Sounds like a great set up!! And since you've been shooting for a few decades longer than I, you probably have a much better idea of what you need for your style of photography.

I've never been to Italy, but personally I'd just take the 80D with an EFs 15-85 around my neck, and an EFs 24 f2.8 pancake in one pocket, and a 430EX in another. And I wouldn't bother with a tripod. And of those you mentioned above, I'd probably make do with the Tokina 11-16 and the EF 50, but I'd probably still throw in the flash.

Have a great trip

Phil

There's some very good advice to your post, to sum up, do not take too much stuff.

If you are going on a trip dedicated to photography, take all the gear! If you plan on publishing your photographs, take all your gear! If you will be with others who are not dedicated to photography, take a small pocket camera and just enjoy being there and don't risk annoying everyone else. So what if you miss a few low-light indoor photographs? Enjoy being there! You won't really have to prove to anyone that you were there... Along with the good pocket camera you can take a 6-inch flexible tripod - give yourself the challenge, and you will be surprised at what decent photographs you can get.

Some good advice! I found many places like museums and abbey's won't permit tripods! Might damage some artifacts, or bother other visitors. With the fast lenses you have a tripod might not be necessary.

You will love it Umbria is a stunning part of Italy. Your set up sounds fine. Should be sunny so maybe no tripod. Enjoy

ORVIETO is beautiful, take a 10-18mm for around town, and 18-135 and have fun. The Cathedral is awesome, but they now charge to enter, maybe 4 EU

Planning on night photography then bring a tripod. If not leave it home, 99.9% of places will not allow you to set it up inside.

Rome is tight and a wide angle lens is a good idea. Inside a lot of the venues the 50mm f1.4 is a good idea, they can be on the dark side.

Finally a lens with some reach has a lot of merit. I like my Sigma 18-300mm as a walk around.

Now with all that said, while in Rome you will do a ton of walking...... think of the weight, uneven streets and sidewalks and the masses also visiting the city. It can get crowded. Make it as simple as possible and remember it's a trip to enjoy don't make getting a bunch of photos work! Keeping it simple and light will make it more fun.

Enjoy and don't fret not having the right lens for the perfect shot. I have lived here for almost 4 years and still when done walking around think gee I should have used (insert lens here) instead. What was I thinking? :)

I would say you are covered for equipment. Apart from the actual wedding, I bet 90% of your shots will be with the 24-70.
Orvieto is a great base for touring. Civita di Bagno Reggio is just 30 mins south of Orvieto and is a 'must see' but pack light that day - lot of walking.
Take a day trip North to Montepulciano, Pienza, Montecino and wander around the Val D'Orcia and up into the Crete Senesi.
Civitello di Lago is a spectacular undiscovered hilltop town just half an hour to the East of Orvieto.
Florence and Siena are maybe 2 hours away and are 'must sees' but don't miss the other places I mentioned.
Enjoy and post pics when you get back.

If it was me,id bring two lenses. My 18-135 and my 70-200.I wouldn't want to carry to much gear. Enjoy your trip.

Sail, I've been there and can say you will love it, both during the wedding and afterwards. One thing you didn't tell us was what kind of PP software you use. When I used to take all three of my lenses with me, it didn't occur to me that I could take my 24-105, then upon return I could easily crop, big time if desired. Ever since then, I typically leave the other two lenses home and take my 24-105. With Photoshop, and probably with Affinity, if you shoot in RAW, you could probably accommodate everything.

If you are the dedicated photographer for the wedding, take the Tokina, the 50mm and a second crop sensor Canon body. Some might add a macro for ring or flower shots. I find all I need for a wedding is a 24, an 85, and a macro on full frame.

That would not be my choice for an APS-C camera. The full frame lenses are not wide enough. The DX is an ultra wide; which I rarely use. All of it is a bit heavy.

Get yourself an 18-135 for normal use and a 28mm f/1.8 for low light. These are affordable lenses ideal for travel.

I never travel without a tripod. Long exposures, panoramas. It will hold the camera for a group shot as well. When traveling with a group, I go out early in the morning and the evening for photo sessions. I'll leave the tripod in the room during the day, when it's not needed.
