Sony A7iii

I have been playing with my new A7iii. One thing I do from time to time with my A6000 is send pictures to my smartphone. I have been trying to do this with the A7iii. I have made sure I have the latest Playmemoires app from Sony, have entered the password correctly that permits me to access the network it sets up. However, all I get is 'connecting' on the camera, it never connects. Is there a solution to this that I am missing?

You have to make sure your phone is connected to the A7iii WiFi. Go into settings on your phone; wifi. You should be able to see the A7iii WiFi connection, and connect to it. Your phone will not automatically connect to it.

Thanks, rizer, I have done that, I see the network for the A7iii and the camera connects but then just sits there and spins. It never connects to the network.

Other than that, how do you like the A7iii? What lens you using? I have the A7ii, and considering the A7iii with the 24-105 lens.

rizer... So far, it is terrific. I had the A7R and got out of FF and am now back in. Sure wish I had kept the glass I had. I got the kit lens 28-70 but have a Samyang SY14M-E 14mm F2.8 on order. I have had great luck with the Samyang/Rokinon lenses and love the manual mode for many shots so we will see how that works out. I am also looking at the 24-105 because I have an 18-105 that 'lives' on my A6000.

And I am as well. I just read a review of the Sony A7iii in Outdoor Photography, and if I were not so heavily invested in Canon, I believe that would be my system. Hmm, still thinking about it.

Just an update....I decided to keep my a7ii, and purchased the 24-70 f2.8 G series lens. This lens is widely regarded as the best Fe mount lens for Sony. Basically I decided to upgrade my glass over upgrading my body. I will eventually post some images here with the new lens.
