My DSLR is very much alive. Last night I left on the table. This morning I found it on the windowsill. I ask "How did you get over here?" It replied "I like watching the birds." And that's the truth.

Geez, we beat this topic to death a few days ago. The answer to your title question is NO.

They are not dying. But more and more people are purchasing mirrorless cameras. Either way, it shouldn’t matter to those who are not stockholders in either format.

They seem to die a whole lot sooner than SLRs ever did!

Yes and no. Will the DSLR become less prevalent? Yes, as mirrorless systems take over as the cameras of preference. Will they totally disappear? Not anytime soon.

Yeah, this one is sort of for the ones of us that missed it the first time. I am surprised that it only went 16 pages the first time around.

Of course not. There will be always (and always have been) times, that show trends towards other kind of cameras, but that does not mean, that it will be dying. The SLR/DSLR has survived many "trends" and so it will this current one!

DSLRs are inanimate objects. They are not alive. It is photographers who are alive, and they remain so.
