Opening files in PP software

Can someone please provide the method to download images into post processing software (e.g., PSP, Gimp, etc.) that other Hedgehog members have shared? I'm interested in viewing the meta data (i.e., camera, lens, aperture, shutter speed, etc.). Thanks in advance.

If you mean the EXIF data, right click on the image and choose "Properties", then "Details".

What browser are you using? Some browsers, like Chrome, have EXIF extensions so you can view EXIF data without downloading the image to a post processing program. Microsoft Edge does not have one, but I believe Firefox and Internet Explorer also have EXIF extensions..

Prefer Chrome, but can also use IE.

If your using Lightroom, then from the Library module, select Metadata>Exif.

If your using Photoshop, select File>File info>Camera Data.

For a much more detailed listing of all the exif data, use a stand-alone program called "exiftool". You can also use a web-based exiftool located at

http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi.

I was going to check Luminar, but I just found out that today's window update just broke Luminar.

I use the EXIF Viewer 2.4.1 extension in Chrome. There are a couple of EXIF viewers with the same name. The one I use is represented by a blue camera icon. Of course you can download and open images in a PP program but that's a lot of unneeded effort if you just want to take a quick look at the shooting parameters.

On my Win 10 PC the File Explorer will display the image on Canon CR2 RAW photo files and a Right click on the file followed by a Left click on Properties followed by a Left click on Details will display the EXIF data. The same thing applies to jpeg files. I don't know which other RAW files will have their image and EXIF data displayed in File Explorer but all jpeg files which include EXIF data included should display it using File Explorer. PP software is not required in this case.
That sounds like what Joe Blow's post was about.
