My buddy asked about this body, and i know nothing about Nikon. I'm a Canon shooter.
Any comments would be of great help.
thanks

They had error message problems with some of them and the camera would not work. I had it with mine, fixed under warranty but did not trust it so I sold it.
You can checked the serial # with Nikon and it will tell you if it is in that batch with the problem
Great FF body. A few years old now, so you can get it at a great price. There were some recalls on the older ones like many other cameras.
Excellent low light and a very good AF. I like the way the body feels in my hand.
It will make good glass worth it too.
I own a D750, D810, and a D90.
I like the D750 best.
My buddy suggested trying google and the typical professionals, including Ken Rockwell, DP Review, Thom Hogan, Photography Life ...
thanks.......now he concerned about his old lens working on a ff body.

The D750 can determine a DX lens is being used and will crop the image to the DX size avoiding the vignette, as well using only a portion of the full frame sensor that was purchased within the D750. But, he should be considering his current range of
full frame lenses when considering a FF body. If he doesn't have any, he's just starting a buying spree that might otherwise be avoided by another DX body ...
If he has full frame lenses, I think that he would love it. I do mine! If he has DX lenses, I think he should consider the D500, D7500, or the D7200. These he would need to research for his needs, but I really like my D7200, which I purchased before the D500 came out.

"his old lens" If they are old as in, pre digital F mount, no problem except older non auto focus will of course not AF. Later DX lenses will be ok too. The D750 will ajust for them .
Depending on how old, it may or may not work, in fact damage, the D750.

Great camera. My only complaints were sending it in for two recalls, although I’ve never had any problems with it. At current prices, it’s a steal!
