President Obama had some degrading words aimed toward business owners just a few days ago. Most business owners do not agree with his statements:

-------

"America's leading small business association has slammed Barack Obama for showing 'an utter lack of understanding' of the country's entrepreneurs when he told them: 'If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.'

In a hard-hitting statement to Mail Online, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) president Dan Danne said: 'What a disappointment to hear President Obama's revealing comments challenging the significance of America's entrepreneurs.

Mr Danne added: 'His unfortunate remarks over the weekend show an utter lack of understanding and appreciation for the people who take a huge personal risk and work endless hours to start a business and create jobs.'

I wonder if they are just now waking up to his disdain for them or are now speaking out about it publicly? I often see where people wake up shocked when they first understand his true political nature and wonder if they are naive or on drugs. It never was difficult to figure out long before he was elected.

Nonsense representation of what the president said!!
Lincoln said "you can fool some of the people all of the time".
You know who you are!

President basically said you did not create your own success and what you have built does not belong just to you.... you should be accepting of higher taxes and more government...

This has been a hardcore democratic line for the last couple of years, I have seen almost the exact same words posted on comment sites for a long time now... it is the same position put forth by OWS..

Exactly. One can agree or not, but the initial post it's clearly disingenuous (a 5 syllable word for lie)

That is absolutely incorrect. If you watch the ENTIRE clip, he was saying that no one is successful by themselves. There are people and systems that successful people rely on for their success. Nothing about taxes or your success not belonging to you. You're completely distorting what he said and what his message was.

No I am correct this is an argument that the left has been making for a long time and it is synergistic with his tax the rich mantra that he has been spouting off for the last year or so...

I am stocking up on the popcorn for the big tax fight that will come after the election.. and am really hoping that no agreement is reached so that we return to the Clinton era taxes. If Obama wins and unless he wins both the House and the Senate he will not get what he wants in the way of taxing the rich and if he is true to his word he will let the tax cuts expire. The largest outrage will come from low income earners and the lower middle class as they were the ones who benefited most from the Bush tax cuts. I want to see the entire tax system overhauled, the problem is is that as with everything else this president shows no leadership and is contented to just raise existing taxes on a few while leaving the corrupted tax system in place...

People forget that before the Bush tax cuts that only 30% of income earners paid no income tax, after the tax cuts that number grew to about 47% and over the last few years that number has grown to about 51%.... Reinstatement of the Clinton era taxes will have the Obama base up in arms demanding that something be done.... Obama will have to deal with the house to get relief and if the house does anything other than reform then they should all be sent home in 2014...

Actually Blurryeyed, all the incumbants in both the House and Senate should be replaced this coming November. Problem is, only one third of the Senate can be turned out this year.

I've always been amused at the naïveté of the "throw the bums out" approach. Let's say we could replace every single member of Congress this year. The day they are inaugurated, congressmen/women and senators begin running for their next term. They begin listening to and receiving campaign contributions from lobbyists, they attend fund raisers, and the entire process just picks up where it left off.

Look at the story today about the Tea Party congressmen and their spending of taxpayer funds for expensive cars. The very people who bemoan government spending are profligate when it comes to their own expenses.

The biggest thing we can do to correct this is to publicly fund, at taxpayer expense, all congressional and presidential campaigns. It's gotta be cheaper for taxpayers in the long run. Then we get private money out of the system by passing a constitutional amendment that denies corporations the benefits of "personhood". Lobbyists lose their clout, and rich billionaires can no longer fully fund a candidate. Maybe we make the legislature a part-time one, so that we're not inundated with election cycle news.

I find it very very hard to figure out how a man who has - as far as I know - NEVER held a job - I mean WORKED and never managed a company much less a store, done a payroll or ordered a restocking of merchandise can tell business people how to CORRECTLY RUN A BUSINESS. It's like me - a retired produce/grocery clerk telling a Dr. how to do brain surgery.
By the way - I am another Mr. Wilson

Isn't it amazing that when ever the president talks
or makes some sort of off the wall commit, that it always
aways( right 2 aways)takes an army of followers to explain
to the American people just what the heck he is talking
about, reason being he doesn't have the foggest idea of
what he's talking about.
Shuck if it would be for the enterpreneurs, there would
most likely be any of these so called electronic devices
in which he uses to read off of, when he gives these false
speeches. Take away all these so call enterpreneurs and he
and his wife wouldn't be able to go on all these luxury
vacations trips that their so famous for.
He's right if it weren't for people like him, people
who are in bussiness of making money wouldn't be making
it.(money that is)

I disagree with your statement. Some of these congress men and woman have been there for so long they have no concept of the world we live in. Term limits would be a good start. In the grand scheme of things the President has very little power. The Congress runs the show. The Tea party backed candidates did just as you say; they stepped up to the buffet and gorged themselves just like the other fat cats. Someone needs to have the leadership to stop the activities of the lobbyists and shut down the buffet. Oh yeah, that was going to be Obama.

If we “throw the bums out” enough times they will eventually get the message that they are there to do our business to our benefit.

As far as us paying for the campaigns: we already do. We do it voluntarily by contributing to the cause. If we let them dip into our pockets to finance their campaigns it will be just one more waste of our hard earned money.

I think it is kind of ironic that Obama and his people keep harping on Romney’s wealth while the Obama campaign chest is at least twice as full has Romney’s based on what has been made public.
