can this photo be improved on?
My quick answer is "What do you want to do?"
"Improved on",.....In a word, No. Trash it and start over. If you can't get the whole bird's body at least a complete head.

How many warbler pictures do you have? I would be happy to have a pine warbler image.

It certainly can't be hurt. I kinda agree with everyone else but thought I would give it a quick try.

What a can of worms you have opened.
My guess is, that you know exactly what you could do with it.
Please don't blame UHH for being 'cruel'.
I kinda liked what was given, a trapped or hidden bird. Went for that with cropping, saturation, dodging and burning.
Find another bird and try again without all that undergrowth in the way.

Find a different angle to shoot from. Too much clutter in the foreground.

Warblers usually live at tree tops chasing mosquitoes and other small insects. Because of my wife's schedule, we usually arrive after migration is largely over, but we have made about a dozen trips to Pt Pelee NP, on the north shore of Lake Erie, along warbler migration path. On three occasions I've been able to take a picture of warblers at our level, once a nesting pair and twice birds at some distance away.
(1) now did you ever get this picture??
(2) advice:
(a) next time post in the Gallery, where pictures are supposed to be displayed, rather than in this section, which is for talk
(b) turn date off
Sometimes, there just isn't a shot. This is one of those times.
