Also, the Sony a7 is a E mount mirrorless camera. The lenses you described are for a Sony A mount body a99m2 or a77m2. 99m2 full frame and the 77m2 3/4 full frame camera mirror mount cameras. The Minola and Sony lenses are APS-C configuration and will not work on a full frame camera like the Sony a7 or a99m2, but will work on the a77m2 fine. This is what you have to decide upon how are the lenses going to work on my new camera and will it give me the full picture that the camera can take?

"If you have A-mount lenses laying around, those too will work, as long as you pick up either of Sony's full-frame-ready adapters (the LA-EA3 or LA-EA4)."(from DP Review)

YES, ea3 for lenses that don't need a screw drive to focus and ea4 for ones that do. Use the ea3 when possible since you don't have have the mirror and using the camera focus points, you have more.

I have a number of Minolta lenses too. I upgraded from the a65 to the a99ii and all my A-mount lenses work just fine. The a99ii does 90% of what the a9 and a7Riii do but with the a- mount lenses. Correcting what a previous person stated, the a99ii will shoot DT lenses in APS-C format and super-35 automatically. I have an a6000 and the LA-EA3 adapter to use my A-mount lenses on it. I just tested yesterday the LA-EA4 and it works faster than my LA-EA3. The $10 adapters will work in full manual mode.

ONLY if you get a Sony LA-EA 4 adapter, then yes.
