Or confessions of a lens junky. The lens is the M. Zuiko 14-150 f 4 5.6 ii. I was really hesitant to buy this lens. A zoom lens covering this much focal length has got to be a engineering night mare. This lens is listed in Olympus's pro series and has good but mixed reviews and I do have the M. Zuiko 40-150 non pro version (basically not weather sealed) and lot less expensive (unbelievably sharp). However, as a general walkabout lens at 40 mm minimum (angle of view 80mm) was a bit long so really needed to carry an extra lens or camera. So to have a lens which covered an angle of view of 28-300mm definitely captured my attention. Well after reading a lot of reviews and looking at lottsa pictures shot with this lens I said to myself "self just do it". I am posting 3 shots. One at my kitchen window and two in the back yard. 3 different focal lengths and 3 different aperture settings. I will mention that the one of the bird on a branch was in the wind and that bird was definitely bobbing. I was rather pleased with the results but prolly won't be the lens on the camera all of the time. Will definitely use it for walkabout (you know those days when you know your gonna take pictures but no particular goal in mind. It be good.

Olympus are well respected in the optical field and the quality of their camera lenses are astounding and these three images demonstrate that.
Well taken.

Thank you. I agree, back in my film days I shot for a while with an OM10 (SLR) the lens Optics and the View finder brightness was awesome. I think now I have most of the Olympus lenses for my M43 OMD's. There Primes are my favorites. I also have some Lumix lenses that are remarkable performers. Deciding between using my m. zuiko 17mm f1.8 and my Lumix 20mm f1.7 is always a tough call for me. I think for M43 users the Lumix 20mm is one that should always be in their bag. I really like the 20mm angle of view (40mm) which can easily take over what you can do with switching between a 17mm and 25mm. If you read any of the reviews I think it is a lens that is seriously under rated. Ayways.. Thanks for having a look. happy shooting :) and have a great day.

I love this lens for its speed, quality, weight, weather sealing. It was a trooper at Niagara Falls in very wet, windy conditions. Definitely my walkabout.
