When you take photos with d3000.
Do you only see the scene in the view finder?
Not on the moniter?
My canon showed it both ways.. Nikon only on the view finder, or am I set up wrong?
thanks b

My D3100 has a lever on the front of the camera to use live view from the monitor.
Hope this helps.
NOt this one.
Show me the lever
No, I have a D3000 and it dosen't have one. Sorry. I don't like that either.
That sucks ......Thanks .. Everyone said it does?
Only had it 3 years.LOL
My canon had that , but he camera start taking black photos , and wont snap now ?????
I am dreaming of a new canon
My Nikon D90 has a button in the back above the 4-way scroller, it will have Lv on it. Look and see if it has one, when you push it the monitor goes off and you can only use viewfinder, then push it again and the monitor goes on and you can't see out of the viewfinder.
nope..........................
thanks

Call Nikon and ask them. You must have gotten a weird model. I bought one for each of my daughters 2 years ago and their's has a lever right on the same button you use for movies, click it and you go to liveview. If your's doesn't have one call Nikon and see what they tell you..............
The D3000 does not have live view. The D3100 does. Personally, I can live without it.

I'm guessing your Canon was not a DSLR. Being able to see the image in the LCD before you take the picture was a big deal when it was introduced a few years ago. As someone else said, it's called Live View, and not all cameras have it. It can be useful for critical focusing, especially if you magnify the image on the screen.
Canon power shoot S51S digital In English
nikon d3000 no movie in it
Have it on my D90. Looking in live view without a tripod makes for shaky pictures. On a tripod for manual focus it is great. - dave
Know what I never use a tripod'' I have one tho.
No shakies here
Notice my cardinal photo on the left ? No tripod at all .. standin over the sink an took it
