Been seeing some posts about using smartphones, I've been using noted Samsung phones since 2014, but at same time my DSLR.
The phone images I use on Facebook while traveling, mostly western USA. For Facebook the phone images have gotten stellar comments, many saying too good for a cell phone, but I prefer my DSLR images every time for scenes taken with both.
That said often glad at least have phone at times....

Both cameras serve a purpose and each has its pluses and minuses. I got some stellar shots out of my Samsung S5, and even better ones out of my Samsung S8.

My wife and youngest son have iPhones 7. I have a Samsung S8. We have taken photos of the same subjects. Usually, the Samsung looks better.

And the S9 and S9+ are even better yet. For photos, it is always the one you have at hand. I prefer my mirrorless, but it is not always available for use. Whatever it takes to "carpe diem".

S5 user for last 3 years and if it was not for the decline in performance I would not get a new smartphone.
I love looking at the exit data on the phone as it seems to be pretty savey.
Dslr cameras are better but you need to go through the pp routine to realize the difference.
Smartphones have such good algarythms that they do a lot with less.
