There are millions of birds, why this one?

They are ever faithful...always available the 4 seasons with their cheerful antics...absolutely impeccably dressed, ready to be photographed...gregarious, friendly, will eat out of your hand...their alarm calls help warn other birds of nearby predators...easy to attract to feeders for beginning birders.....I could go on. Simply put, they make people happy.

They are definitely the happiest birds at the feeder. In all weather. They are also very polite at the bird feeder - they take a seed and then go eat it or stash it in a cache somewhere and then come back. Not like SOME other birds (bluejays - are you listening?!!!)

I concur. I live in Green Bay, but deer hunt in Price County, a little west of Prentice. In my tree stand, I've had chickadees on my lap, my shoulders, my hat, my rifle, often quite close on a branch. They are so friendly and fun to watch...just a beautiful little bird. I see you're in northern Wisconsin...where about? This morning (March 31) we woke up to new snow. Supposed to get an inch or two...pretty wet though, as it won't last long...was in the 50's just a couple days ago. Beautiful, wonderful Wisconsin! Thanks for your post of the chickadee...nice pic. God's blessings to you, and Happy Easter tomorrow.

Couldn’t agree more. Have had them fearlessly perch on my arrow or me for minutes at a time after fliting around my stand investigating the new thing in their territory.
