Shame on you people for complaining so much about this Vet that for a while I'm banned. I served in the Army from 06/68-06/70 not for me (I was drafted) but for you. Hope you are happy.
I don't know why you are banned, I stopped following your posts when you got so critical and bitter a while back.
You went out of your way to tell people how bad you thought people's pictures were and did it in a rude way. Then got hostile when someone came back at you about it.
Also you started pounding a drum about how you were mistreated by:
A. being drafted
B. being sent to Vietnam
C. apparently having problems with VA and/or health care in general
D. blaming all the recent problems on the president (you want to talk politics and trade insults join "The Attic" section, that is where all that takes place).
E. you recommended the Canon T7i (good camera but not the answer for everything) plus you kept stating that you keep your camera on Auto all
the time-that shows you aren't making much effort to improve on the tech side of photography so some decided to start throwing back an attitude much
like your own attitude
F. your more or less bragging about how much you suckered the unemployment system for - that really frosted a bunch of us - it was our tax money you
were collecting.
1. concentrate on the fun of photography and look at people's snap shots they post just to be part of a social group - not to be the next Ansel Adams
2. go back to learning more and experimenting then post those photos knowing that you are asking for criticism and suggestions to learn from - and do your
critics in a friendly/helpful manner or just look and don't comment
3. ask for help - "I have health problems and need help on how to...." Without the dramatics and complaining tone.
4. stop the constant "They done me wrong, the President isn't helping me like he said he would etc etc etc" Lots of us served in Nam, many of those were
drafted - I wasn't but my brother was (I enlisted in the regular army.), then he signed a contract as a conscientious objector who would not be sent to
Nam, picked Combat Medic for his MOS, stayed in 23 1/2 years holding a Dr's slot and doing a Dr's job his last few years before retiring.
5. I understand that your health is causing problems and probably scaring the hell out of you at times - I know mine does (I'm 72, major health problems
and 40% VA disability, at least one of my doctors thinks it should be 100%). You need to get help, join a group either formal or just some friends where
you can talk it through and learn how to cope better and live with it.
6. The photography can help by giving you something to do - since I can no longer walk as much I put in plants and feeders in my yard where I can attract
birds and butterflies, flowers and plants to photograph. I also took up macro photography and focus stacking which can be done on a table top in my
home. Learning those should keep me busy for a long time. If you like doing people and places then start gathering a list of places where you can do those kinds of photographs without much walking or even from your car. Malls, parks with driving tours/routes, parks where you can park and shoot out the car window or very close to the car. The railway museum I belong to has a lot of land and hosts events by groups like Steam Punkers, car shows and
re-enactors. I can sit up in a central location and take pictures of people as they go by with a little bit of walking in a restricted area for a change of scenes to photograph.
Oh yeah! I will throw in a definite compliment. The picture you posted of the little girl playing with the pump at a re-enactment. Charming, is it great art? -not really; but it is a pretty much a close to perfect illustration of the fun of childhood. A little girl having a great time just being a kid playing with that pump.
