Yesterday I was at a local 5K race taking photos for my daughter. The race was sponsored by the local Fire Department to raise money for the Cancer Research Foundation. I saw these two trophies and thought they were interesting for a "close up" shot, hope you like.

I'm always into different and I like these very much, Joe... especially the first with the beautiful bokeh, but also like the reflections in the second!!
Hope your daughter did well in the race, such a good cause... my daughter ran track from HS, through college... I always loved going to the meets!!

Hi Angela and thank you! I really would have liked to have been able to get some shot of spring flowers, not possible. The ground still has snow, some places over a foot, the temperature was 32 degrees. My daughter did very well, she ran her fastest 5K so far and came in third for her age group, I think the cold helped, she wanted to get done (LOL). She started running late, after college, but loves it and does many 5Ks each year. She trains on a treadmill during the cold winter months almost daily in preparation for the upcoming year.

Hi Angela and thank you! I really would have like... (show quote)

Good for her, I have such respect for people who run in all kinds of weather... wish I could do that... I don't even like to go out and shoot in the cold!!
Sorry you still have that much snow on the ground, my house is on the sunny side of the street, so most is gone and yesterday I did spot some daffodils popping up!!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Joe!

Different and delightful, Joe, and great examples of how many possibilities there are for closeup shots! And bless your daughter for participating in such a worthy benefit.

Hi Donna and thank you. Wish I had some pretty flowers to photograph but they are still a ways away. I am very proud of my daughter and her accomplishments.

Hi Earl and thank you. Aren't you heading towards fall in your part of the world? I am waiting for spring here and the chance to get out and about.

Hi Greg and thank you very much. I just kind of happened upon the idea as I was standing there waiting for the race to start. Not many closeup opportunities right now with the cold and snow, tried to make the best of it.
