This owl landed in a tree next to me, without seeing me. I could only see a part of him and this shot was taken before he saw me.

Very nice!!! They are amazing animals....can hunt in total darkness...unbelievable sense of sight and hearing!
Did it move off when it noticed you?

Yes, eventually, but it appeared he saw something he was after. When he did notice me, he didn't seem frightened, nor did he react. A few looks around and he was off on his business.

We have one nesting in a lightning-struck pine, now 6 years in a row. She just started sitting a day or so ago.

Th telephone cable came into the picture this year as a result of a dead tree falling onto it. Hope someone clears it up.

Agree. We have gotten many photos of her and the two or three chick as they begin to peer out and then fledge.
