It may help if you explain your thought process a little. Nobody knows why you are thinking of upgrading, or what you are lacking or feel you are missing. Hence the responses are all over the place.

I suggest you upgrade only if that camera fails or if there is something you want to do but can't because of the limitations of the camera. If it is doing the job and you are satisfied with the results, save the expense and spoil your grand kids.

I think you may want to look at the Mirrorless cameras - Fujifilm & Sony. Their images are fantastic right out of the camera. They are generally smaller than traditional systems and easier to carry around and a good value also.
