Not a statistical study. Just an informal survey. The hole gets deeper and deeper.

Whose hole? Yours? If the idea is to present useful information to people, which I believe the intent is, then the conclusions should be presented adequately. Including OEM batteries as a control factor would have been useful for comparison. In my own case, I've only had one bad battery experience, which was an OEM battery, as I described earlier.

Even allowing for the small sample size and margin of error, comparing OEM battery experience with third party battery experience would be a more useful result.

I applaud the OP's intent and efforts, but it is important to report information in a meaningful way that is useful to people. So long as the results are presented with any limitations declared there isn't a problem, but the lack of responses about OEM batteries is a concern about the validity of the study.

It’s an informal survey, not a statistical study. Why don’t you go ahead and set it up the way you want it with required sample size, margin of error and standard deviation. I’ll be waiting to provide all my input.

Sony, Watson, close to OEM at 20-25% of cost. Just got some SmilePowo (made in Japan not China) - 4 batteries & dual charger for cost of one Sony OEM. Good so far but too early to rate.

As a service to UHH members, I would like to collect responses from UHH members on their experience with non OEM batteries. I will collect the data and publish the results at the end of this thread in a day or so. Please respond with only these data: Brand of camera; brand of battery and experience - positive or negative. This might help members decide on what approach they should try. Please do not respond if you have only used OEM batteries for your camers(s). Thank you.

Nikon D3300-Promaster. Switch between Nikon battery and promaster backup when Nikon needs charging but recently bought second Nikon. However had no problems with promaster anytime I used it.

Wasabi for D5/D4/D850 - only 1 month into, but shot >4,400 crane images this week in overnight blind and batteries did well in cold and hold charge better than OEM.
