Yesterday I took a trip to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden Colorado, and had a delightful time. I just can't believe in my 72 years young I have never made it to this wonderful display.

Not the best time or lighting for photography, as it was cloudy and overcast in the middle of the day. These images were shot with my Canon 5D MKII & my brand new Sigma 45mm DI, VC, USD. This is my first prime lens and I'm quite impressed. I'm seeing more prime's in my future. All images are SOOC. Hope you enjoy them, and if you are ever in the Denver area it's well worth a visit.

That wasn't a Sigma lens, it was a Tamron. I have the Tamron 45mm f/1.8 SP VC lens. It's a great lens. I use it often for model photo shoots. The vibration compensation really helps when you can't use a tripod. I find that it's not super sharp wide open and stop down the aperture to about f/2.8 or f/3.2 to get into the range where it's really sharp.

Nice set. I second the recommendation for people to visit this site. I need to get back. Liked the mail car set up myself and the old wooden 40 footers. Grandfather worked section for Colorado Southern so the rails have a calling to me. If your nerd side has more hands than Photography and Rail swing by Greeley and see the model rail museum. One of the best anywhere. 72 - what are you going to be when you grow up?

Yep, it was my Tamron 45mm. I had a senior moment. Wonderful lens for sure!

NIce photos!
If you've been bitten by the rail bug, not to far north (I'm sure you know this) in Durango, the Durango and Silverton Rr. Not to far east, the Cumbres & Toltec scenic RR in Chama. Both are great rail attractions though the C&TS tends to be more historic/authentic.

Thanks Rich. I have rode the Durango & Silverton, but it was many years ago. A great ride for sure!

Nice set. Brings back memories of going to Travel Town in Griffith Park (Los Angeles) as a kid.
