Tamron 100-400mm. Anybody have this lens?
I just purchased a D7500 for my daughter. At the recommendation of the salesman who I've purchased all my Nikon gear from and whom I trust, I purchased the Tamron 100-400mm f4.5-6.3 to use at soccer and baseball games. We have a two week window to return it, and we'll be shooting two soccer games Saturday. We were able to shoot with it both inside the store (at ISO 6000) and outside the store. Photos were blown up on an Apple 27" monitor and looked pretty sharp, but any experience with this lens fellow Hoggers may have would be appreciated.
Is this deferred GAS? She's the one taking the most pics of the grandkids....so, hopefully we'll reap some results as well!!!!
I have the Sigma version. I use would like to hear about your experience with the Tamron. I have heard the Tamron is better better at sports than the Sigma(the Tamron is a half stop faster). Plz keep me informed!

A good lens, especially for outdoor sports shots, but you might want something shorter for inside and family shots.

I gave her a 35-80mm f4-5.6 that came with my Nikon 6006 that is a nice little lens. I may also give her my 50mm f1.8 or look for a used 35mm.
Nice walk around lens with about the same quality as the popular Nikon 18-140 and a lot more range. Good bang for the buck.
I use this lens on my D500 and D850 it works well for me on both cameras. So far I have only used it for birds and Squirrels with great results. As soon as the weather get better I will get to use it more on other subjects.I like it.
