Attempt at a Pano of the sand dunes at the Great Sand Dunes NP in Southern Colorado we recently visited looking across Buck Creek just outside the visitor center parking lot. To give you an idea of the size of these dunes, when you download and zoom in, there's a man walking his dog just across the creek while directly above him (halfway up the photo) on a spine going up 'High Dune', is a dot/speck, is another man walking his dog up that spine (sorry so blurry)....You can see tourists just above the man walking his dog heading toward the dunes. Its an amazing National Park. Lawrence of Arabia could have been filmed here....

Comments good or bad are welcome, thanks

I love those sand dunes!! They are quite large and appear out of nowhere. I like that you included the water in the foreground and the snow covered mountain in the background. I think you did a fine job. I do have one question. What made you decide to end the dunes on the left as you did? If I remember correctly the dunes taper off to the west surrounded with more mountains.

Very nice pano! I also like the composition with the snow capped mountain in the distance.

I took my grandson (17) and his 16 year old cousin march of 2016. They loved "sand boarding" the dunes. Nice pano.

A good effort. When shooting panoramas hold the camera in the portrait position
to eliminate more of the letter plate style.
You need to overlap more in this position, but I find it more rewarding.

Thanks and you are correct. I should have extended (or started farther left) but the San Juan Mountains to the west were much farther away, not as impressive as the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the north and east, should have considered it though. However it does give me the perfect reason to go back and do it better again and I agree with you, they appear out of nowhere and stunning.

Very nice. I was born here and have lived here for all of my life except the years I spent in the Navy. I have never been there. I need to get out more... LOL Cheers.

Nice pano. With a bit of foreground interest it might have been even better.
