A West Texas Meadowlark seen on our way to Big Bend NP. Very pretty bird but a slightly different shape than the Meadowlarks in Florida and the southeast, much longer bill and lower forehead but still has a great Meadowlark tune. Must be a tough living in that Texas scrub country.

Good catch, Blaster. I like that you included that unique branch that contrasts with his features. My only quibble would be to watch your focus point in such situations. It appears the closest branch and his feet are in focus more than his eye.
