nikon 16 to 200mm lens

when I extend my lens and point it upward, the lens will slide back down. Is there any inexpensive cure for this problem? Lens takes great pics.

A large rubber band.

so where did you find a 16-200mm lens anyway?
Might it be an 18-200mm lens? Likely the VR model and lens creep is normal on it. The VR II version added a zoom lock switch to prevent the lens creep.

sorry, it is an 18 to 200mm lens and I watched the short video on the rubber band. it does work but where I have to place the rubber band it still moves a little it is much better

It seems more than clear to me where to position the rubber band.
Look at the video once more.

I saw another video and showed to place the band right on the ribbed zoom and it works great. I want to thank all for their concern and help. thank you all.
