Almost Dinner time

Hawk landed in a large pine tree across the street... Contemplating what should it have for dinner...

I have been seeing more of these lately in a well developed residential area... There is a large forest preserve
less than a mile from here... Saw a coyote trotting down my street recently... They have been hanging around
quite often in my neighborhood... Just curious what kind of hawk is this one?

Nice sequence of shots, I got a great shot of an eagle just as it's lifting off the top of an evergreen. There is something else in your 1st pix, the huge abundance of pine cones from the 2017 growth period. 2016 had very few pine cones.i m on my tablet, and later I 'll find my pix and post it.

I am also surprised as I was working in my back yard today there were a much larger bunch of pine cones on the ground than I can ever remember
seeing...

Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the nice comment

No the tasty ones are kept inside

Seriously thanks for the visit and compliment... Had only a minute to catch these shots... I was cold, barefoot, standing on my front porch... lol So the quality i would have loved to have is not quite there... Those talons look pretty mean....

Here's the eagle shot I mentioned earlier today, shot with an "all-in-one" Fuji HS50, 25-1000mm zoom, 16mpx. Shot at the Ashokan Reservoir Catskill Mountains NY.
see how few pine cones, I guess the abundance varies year to year.

Very nice shot... and I do see that you don't have anywhere near the number we do... Maybe we are importing them from your area?
