Nope. Lets see it, bigmouth. Respect is GAINED not magically awarded due to age. Show your work or shut it. Lets see that quality.....

Would it be possible for the two of you to go private with this nonsense. I'm NOT taking sides here, but these posts add nothing for the rest of us. As far as I am concerned, you are BOTH wrong.

I find it amusing that you took offense to the term "fooling around" with a camera. It certainly wasn't aimed at you as I don't know you. No one else has been offended. I no longer "have" to shoot under anyone's direction, so, I shoot when I want, where I want. and how I want. I do experiment with all the whistles and bells on my camera. I FOOL around with my camera as do thousands of other people. Call it what you want. I wasn't talking about you, I don't know you and frankly with your sensitive nature I don't want to.

Blah, blah.... As always happens in your case....all talk, no show. Typical.

Does not make sense to spend big bucks for a camera that , does it all, and then use it mostly on "Auto". Why not just buy a state of the art point- and- shoot camera? If you prefer to shoot in auto I suggest you set it on Program Mode which is in fact Auto but gives you choices if you want to take advantage of them. I leave my camera on that mode when I'm not sure what I am going to shoot. I never leave it on Auto. Just saying. It's a hobby and I enjoy knowing about, and using my equipment, to the fullest. But in the end, it is your money and your gear and you should use as you as you like.

We pay mega bucks for the latest camera with more computing power than a Moon-Lander and Auto Mode is disdained ?

Do you have an " Auto " car, or do you use a manual gearbox?................ Which drives the car most effectively ?

Are you in danger of missing the shot while fiddling with the settings ?

Washing machines, computer controlled CNC,...... Micro surgery the list is endless where the computer wins out.

Perhaps in years to come you will be able to program your drone to go to your favourite locations, take the photos

and return them to you to process in PhotoShop,

Coming from a history of manually cocked shutters, flash-bulbs and slow film speeds, graduating eventually to a Zenith SLR

(now that WAS manual) First SLR with TTL metering I am hugely impressed by the programming power and facilities offered

by a modern camera.

Not many of us need or use all the features of our digital cameras, but they are there if you want them. It all depends on your preferences and your choice is no better or worse than any body else's.

WTH do you mean by "auto"?? A or S? Av or Tv? or P?
First on a camera it used to mean that one's aperture would not close while looking through the viewfinder and turning the aperture ring toward f 16 or 22.
