First experience with photography, 1948 I found a product with premeasured developing chemicals. Using a box camera I took a roll of film and processed it. Dark Basement with pyrex pans and homemade contact frames. Earned my photography merit badge. Well satisfied with my accomplishment. Fast forward, stationed in England,I purchased a Voightlander Perseco II and processed film at the Base Photo Hobby Shop. Using outdated Photo Recon Paper I printed a 3rd Air Force contest winner. Took over the hobby shop as part time instructor and manager. Purchased a Leica IIc camera for making slides. Over the years I have had mostly Minolta Cameras from XD and XG series bodies and assorted lenses. Then comes along Minolta Maxxmum with its Auto Focus System. With all new lenses and accessories, I had a thing with Minolta. Then disaster, I had a pipe freeze and flooded my home (I was at Quartzite Snow birding). I lost most of everything except for Maxxmum lenses. Here comes digital photography and the demise of Minolta and me with autofocus lenses. Here comes Sony to the rescue with the A100 Body. The A100 had its drawbacks and I with Minolta lenses, so I purchased the Sony A77M2. So by default a Minolta fan turns into a Sony user. I can say I am a technology nut and the mechanics of photography is important. Find me outdoors Most times with flora and fauna.
Welcome to the HOG.
Reading your first post you have quite a baptism into photography and you have seemed to have come out the other side unscathed.
Enjoy the forum and your photography.

Welcome. Long time Minolta user, still shoot with an XK SRT201 and a couple of X700's. Have Canon 7D & 7D II for digital work. Even use a few of the old Minolta glass on my Canons.
