Garfield the Cat?

I was walking in an empty field and thought I had discovered a dead dog about 30' in front of me. Finally the beast turned its head and looked at me with the look only a condescending can can muster. After a few minutes of deciding I posed no threat, it slowly got to its feet and moved off with the speed of molasses. I have never seen any cat so large before. If you note its beautiful long hair, it is obvious this is not a stray.

I like this cat. Good shots! He must have decided you were OK, so he sat there while you did your thing๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป! I had a big cat once, he weighed, about 28 to 30 LBS. He would put his head under the arms of the little kids in the yard and they would drag him around the whole yard. His whole body would be dragging behind them!

My son has a 20 lb. cat and he said that he thinks this one is big enough to beat his up and steal his lunch money.

Nice capture! My first cat, Rusty, got to be 26 1/2 pounds--he died in 2014 and I do miss him. I currently have 2 indoor cats that weigh about 20 pounds each (and 4 that are lighter).

They have a way of getting into your heart, don't they?

Yes it does. He also had a collar and name tag. I can't imagine letting a pet that well cared for roam around. This was in a five-acre field complete with ditches and other cat-unfriendly features. He seemed totally unconcerned.

And i'll bet he/she can take care of him/her self when it comes down to it.

It is a Maine Coon cat. Often thought to be the only true North American breed. Often called the Gentle Giant

Thanks for the info. I just looked at several of them courtesy of Google. They really are giants.
