...it screams an adventure...but I don’t know if I want to get caught in there after dark...I’ve seen too many Walking Dead episodes...
Hal, I'll pass on the tour, but I did enjoy your images!!!
Those buildings look very disappointing. The photos show what was, and what is. I can imagine the hustle and bustle, when it was going strong. And there was employment.

Nice series.
I especially like #2 with the lines and patterns and patterns within patterns. The broken windows make it perfect.

Literally! I’m surprised that the government dosen’t make the owner take those old buildings down and clean up the mess. Where is the environmental protection agency when you need them? Maybe they just figured that it could be left as a tourist attraction! Hal, These are great shots though.
Nice photos, but I think I'll pass on visiting that place--it looks dangerous just to be there.

Would love to shoot there..good job!
This place looks huge. I feel sorry for the people that lost their jobs when this place closed down.

A little story about coal mines in Pa. My wife's mother was Russian. They moved from Russia to the US mid to late 20's. My wife's grandfather worked in the coal mines in Warriors Run. There were 9 children and one on the way. There was a mining accident and the grandfather and a bunch more were killed. The coal company let them stay in the company house. Rent free, nothing else. The grandmother lost the last baby.
Interesting subjects, Hal.
Nice shots but what the HAL were you doing in there! Looks a little dangerous.

All of the old breakers in our area have been torn down. All of the history is gone. The only thing left is the worlds largest culm bank.
