Dear friends, Tucson is a very old city as far as old cities go in the New World. It dates back to the early 1600's and there is enough archaeological evidence that a population center existed at the site of Tucson dating back 10,000 years. Like many cities in the United States, progress demands land for growth and many old and familiar icons from previous ages are torn down in favor of modernization. Fortunately for us, however, some people in the community wanted to preserve the feel and look of the old town and several old communities exist today, fixed up a bit, but still standing. The doors in this series of photographs are from "El Barrio Viejo" which in English is "The Old Town". I have wandered around El Barrio Viejo several times taking pictures of this and that and you can easily spend a few hours making photographs as it is a very small area, about four streets and about 5 city blocks in length. Here are my door pictures....
Nice doors--I enjoyed seeing your series.
Robert, You have a keen photographer's eye and have captured some excellent examples of "old town's" culture.
