Any thoughts or suggestions as to what to look for in a camera bag? (I have a D7200, D70 and 3 lenses)
I’ve always found Tenba bags to be very well constructed and smartly designed. They aren’t the cheapest, but their durability makes them well worth their slightly higher cost. I especially like the fact that they are low-key which tends to reduce the risk of theft. Many ‘popular’ camera bags tend to shout out who makes them with decorations that tip off thieves. Tenba bags are quieter about their purpose - and often look like a bags that business people carry to and from work.
I think the internal padded dividers and external pockets are the best features to look for . . . The style, shape, carry capacity can differ greatly depending on your needs, but the protection and organization ability in a bag are what I'm looking for . . .
I like shoulder bags that have a reinforced bottom and rubber runners on the bottom of the bag. I hate bags that sag a lot from the weight of the gear. I have a Lowepro Magnum 200 shoulder bag that has a one-piece molded bottom that can take a lot of weight. The Magnum 400 and 650 bags are larger.
Waterproof, good internal padding and comfort.

Sorry, but there are too many good choices. As a result, I have too many camera bags, but better too many than too few.
I look first at Lowepro when I want a bag or backpack. I've always had good luck with them. Be sure you have enough room inside and enough pockets and compartments. You don't want everything stuck in one big cavern. Also, make sure you can move the dividers where you want them. Some bags have limited Velcro.

I love my Tenba backpack, I've have had a few bags and looked at many more. This is the very best in every way for me.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I love the old Domke bags. Minimal padding, but super capacity and access. I use them more as working bags than travel bags. Like most, I have more bags than I should, but that allows me to adapt to each situation (and most of them actually get used on a fairly regular basis). My advice is find what works for you and and build around that.

The first consideration should probably be the style of bag. After some trial and error I settled on using a backpack and that is where my camera and my most useful lenses seem to stay. Generally it is on my back only at airports, but I got one that is small enough for the airlines to treat it as a personal item - so in the air it sits on the floor, usually just under my legs. When walking around I usually just carry the camera and a single lens that seems most appropriate for the walk and the bag stays in the trunk of my car with the other lenses.
This may or may not work for you, but I'd advise sticking to inexpensive bags until you find out what style does work for you.
