I was told by a member here that the two photos posted above were not sharp because I hand held the lens. I believe that it is because they were severely cropped, I doubt I or anyone else could have done much better with a tripod. I guess I need to look for closer birds, maybe in an aviary.

Fantastic shots Victor. Love the moss in the first. It really adds to the shot. I had three places I could go and see Kestrels every summer. Haven't seen one there in three years.

Doc, You might consider putting up a kestrel box somewhere. If you build it, they may come. :-0 Or perhaps a screech owl or flicker in the meantime.
