Drove through Death Valley (south to north) on a mostly cloudy day last month. It is a geological treasure. Much of Badwater Basin is flat, tufted salt bed, but the mountains on the east side are filled with colorful marvels. My favorite photgraphy site was Artist Palette, accessed by the 13 mile-long, one-way Artist Drive. A close second was the high mountains south of Zabriskie Point. Here are a few.
P.S. Saw lots of cyclists in Badwater Basin...not many autos to disrupt their ride.
Dave, you took advantage of a really beautiful area. Nicely done.

Thanks for commenting, Doddy. England has fascinating geology but not quite like DV.
Thanks, khill. I like your One World shot. Please play some more.
Nicely done! Did you get up to 'The Racetrack' or 'Teapot Junction'?

There's a certain stark beauty only found in places like this. You've captured that essence very well.

I was on a one-day out-and-back from Las Vegas and had read that I needed something more serious than a rental SUV to see those sights. Thanks for looking.

What a gorgeous series, Dave. I'm sure I'll never get there, but after seeing these, I wish I could.
