Lüneburg, Germany medieval crane

this crane is still in working condition. Lüneburg is one of the Hanseatic cities of northern Germany. The river is a tributary of the Elbe River, so ships have connection to the North Atlantic.

I was practicing with the extract tool and have no touch for the feathering of the tree branches. Really botched those. Maybe one has to spend much, much more time to get the details . I took out the washed-out sky and substituted the evening pink, but, as I said, the tree branches bit the dust in the process :-( Is it a matter of less opacity of the brush outline?

Nice photo and subject. The only program that I have found so far that will leave the branches and detail is OnOne Software Perfect Mask. It works well when there is a large amount of contrast between the saved image and the dropped portion. If they are close to the same color it is next to impossible. They have a 30 day trial if you are interested. If you have any questions let me know.

thank you, Swede. I am afraid that the fine branches are really quite close to the color of the sky. I may give it a free trial try.
